Boys Varsity Track Team Sending Four Athletes to State Qualifier Meet

Senior Tyler Sutton of the Whitesboro Boys Varsity Track team, along with three others, is headed to the State Qualifier Meet, after an impressive win at sectionals on May 29 at Camden.

Sutton placed first in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10 minutes and 21 seconds, beating the second place finisher by five seconds.

Sutton will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase at the State Qualifier Meet on Friday, June 5, at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. The meet is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and both boys and girls will be competing.  Tyler Sutton

The Whitesboro Boys Varsity Track team is also sending three others to the State Qualifier Meet. Nick Ashton will be competing in the 800m run, Aaron Burke will be competing in the 110m hurdles and Derrick Sica will be competing in the pentathlon. Those fortunate enough to advance will then participate in the State Meet on June 12 and 13 at SUNY Albany.

Whitesboro’s boys will be joining six members of the Whitesboro Girls Varsity Track team at the State Qualifier Meet - - Justyna Wilkinson, Taylor Klosek, Marissa Burke, Halia Todd, Cailyn Onate and Emilie Mull. As a team, the Whitesboro Boys Varsity Track team finished in 7th place at sectionals.
