COVID-19, Reopening, Quarantine & Isolation

  • Maximizing in-person learning continues to be our goal.  After a careful and thorough review of evolving conditions and new COVID-19 guidance, we have made revisions to certain components of our Reopening Plan and created a PDF flowchart of District isolation and quarantine protocol guidance. We have also developed an interactive COVID-19 Isolation & Quarantine Decision Guide containing the same information that you can utilize to quickly determine whether or not an individual needs to isolate or quarantine.

  • At-Home COVID-19 Test Safety

    The Upstate Poison Center announced that parents should keep at-home testing kits away from small children and pets as there is a liquid inside the kit that can be toxic.

  • COVID-19 Protocols and Procedures

    Our current Reopening Plan, as approved by the Board of Education and our School Medical Director, requires isolation and quarantine periods of 10 days. We will communicate any changes to this plan, including any changes to isolation and quarantine periods, prior to their implementation.

  • More than 2,500 COVID-19 Test Kits Distributed

    In an effort to keep schools open for in-person instruction, New York State committed to distributing COVID-19 at-home test kits to school districts across the state.

  • A Statement Regarding COVID Testing

    Recently, local, New York state and Federal governments have created policies to support schools in their efforts to educate students in-person during the ongoing COVID19 pandemic. The component school districts of the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES are appreciative that our local, State and Federal officials have listened to our feedback regarding these policies and have responded by implementing changes that will allow our schools to continue in-person learning.
