Continuity of Learning
-
Dear Parents/Guardians,A sincere thank you to parents/guardians for participating in our Parent Remote Learning Survey. We are extremely pleased with the high number of responses received (1,329 in total!). District leadership has met and reviewed the results with staff to develop action plans moving forward. In direct response to your valuable feedback, we:
- Created a Continuity of Learning section on the district website (www.wboro.org/continuity) to aggregate information and resources
- Adjusted student work requirements to better align with remote learning conditions
- Are communicating with parents and students regarding grading and report cards
- Increased the minimum number of direct instruction video conferencing sessions (including small group breakout sessions) and/or prerecorded lessons
- Requested that all middle and high school teachers develop and share schedules for virtual office hours
- Created single-page documents for elementary, middle, and high school levels that outline the most common learning platforms/systems students and teachers are using (www.wboro.org/remotelearning)
- Created and implemented a web-based form for parents to use to request technical assistance with district-issued devices and online resources (www.wboro.org/parenttechsupport)
- Are implementing Class Link, a single sign-on (SSO) platform for students that will enable them to log in once and access the most commonly used online resources
As remote learning continues, we will monitor and adjust based on evolving conditions to ensure we address the needs of our school community. Our goal is to provide the best learning opportunities possible to our students, regardless of where they learn. We thank you again for your valuable feedback.
Dr. Brian K. Bellair
Superintendent of Schools
