• Transitioning to a new high school can be a fresh start for some. However, for others, it can be one of the scariest and challenging things that an adolescent can face.

Finding their way in a new setting while simultaneously dealing with external stressors can compound the student’s transition. This year, we wanted to provide extra support for our transfer students and facilitate more opportunities for connectedness with staff and students outside of the classroom setting. Our goal is to forge new relationships and to promote a positive transition.

On September 29, the high school hosted a Warrior Welcome Day in the library during periods five through seven. All transfer students were invited to attend during their specified lunch periods and lunch was provided for students and staff. Each new student received a welcome gift bag and informational stations were set up. Here’s to a great school year!
