Mrs. Russo
Welcome fourth graders! My name is Mrs. Russo and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! I can't wait for us to get to know each other, so allow me to introduce myself...
I also attended school in Whitesboro, and graduated from Whitesboro High School in 2004. I've always wanted to become an elementary school teacher, so I immediately began my studies to achieve this goal. I graduated from SUNY Oneonta with my Bachelor's in Childhood Education (1-6) in 2007, and from SUNY Cortland with my Master's degree in Literacy (B-6) in 2010.
I was very fortunate to begin my teaching career straight out of college, and have been teaching in the Whitesboro Central School District ever since! (There is nothing quite like teaching in the same school district where you yourself were once a student!) I taught 6th grade my first year before joining the 4th grade team at Deerfield, making this year #16 overall.
I truly believe that teaching is the most rewarding job in the world, and I genuinely love coming to school each day and working with my students! Maybe some of you will become future teachers, as well! :-)
