    Phase B of our capital project is in its final stretch. Below, is a building-by-building summary of work currently taking place or that has recently been completed.

    High School:
    Current
    • Courtyard construction

    • New doors and window façade at gym and auditorium entrances

    All current/ongoing work is expected to be completed by the first day of school except:
    • Courtyard construction (High School)
    • Bathroom renovations in Room 2 (Hart’s Hill)
    • Lighting upgrades (Middle School)

    In an effort to eliminate and/or minimize disruptions during the school day, most of the remaining work will take place after school hours. The long-term results of our capital project will enhance the learning environment for our students, improve building safety and address various infrastructure-related needs.     Bathroom renovations at Deerfield Elementary, Hart’s Hill Elementary and Westmoreland Road Elementary

    Building-by-building summary of work currently taking place:

    Deerfield Elementary – hallway flooring replacement; hallway painting; library carpeting replacement; miscellaneous floor abatement; new handicap lift

    Hart’s Hill Elementary – hallway ceiling removal and replacement; miscellaneous asbestos abatement; new kindergarten bathroom

    Marcy Elementary – final bathroom renovations; renovations on connecting corridor between main and kindergarten buildings

    Westmoreland Road Elementary – library/media center carpeting replacement scheduled to begin; hallway painting scheduled; miscellaneous floor abatement; new handicap lift

    Middle School – bathroom renovations to be completed this summer; student locker replacements scheduled to begin; elevator upgrades; new handicap lift

    High School – bathroom renovations to be completed this summer; miscellaneous HVAC work; courtyard and kitchen renovations

    Transportation Garage – exterior siding to be installed on offices; site work improvements scheduled to begin

    May 2017:

    The work associated with Phase B of our Capital Project continues to progress. In an effort to eliminate and/or minimize disruptions during the school day, the vast majority of work is taking place after school hours, except the construction of the new Chiz Frye Field Press Box and the renovations at the Transportation Garage. The following is the latest update.

    Completed Work:
    • Transportation garage lifts
    • Transportation garage office interior
    • New ceilings and lighting in multiple school buildings
    • New classroom doors at Westmoreland Road Elementary
    • Several bathrooms in multiple school buildings are back in service

    Hart’s Hill Elementary – bathroom renovations nearing completion; hallway ceiling removal and replacement beginning

    February 2017:

    The work associated with Phase B of our capital project continues to progress.

    In an effort to eliminate and/or minimize disruptions during the school day, the vast majority of work is taking place after school hours, except the construction of the new Chiz Frye Field Press Box and the renovations at the Transportation Garage.

    The new press box is moving along nicely, and the steel components will soon be erected. The interior work at the Transportation Garage is nearing completion. The new bus wash is also nearing completion, and the new bus lifts are already in use.
