As we begin the process of selecting a new District name (to replace Warriors) and logo, we want to hear from you. The Whitesboro Central School District is actively seeking input from students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members. We are once again using the ThoughtExchange platform to gather your valuable input/feedback. This approach will help us identify the values and priorities of our entire school community, and will provide  important information to our District Renaming Committee.

Why are we changing our District name and logo?

To comply with Part 123 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Relating to Prohibiting the Use of Indigenous Names, Mascots, and Logos by Public Schools all school districts in New York State must ensure their mascots, team names, and logos are non-discriminatory, and do not use Indigenous names or imagery. For more information, see the Background and Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Part 123 from NYSED.
