Staff School Climate Survey
-
Dear Whitesboro Staff:
As you may know, we will be giving all parents, students in grades 3-12, and staff the opportunity to participate in a school climate survey over the next several weeks. In collaboration with OHM BOCES, we have partnered with the National School Climate Center (NSCC), an organization founded in 1996 at Teachers College, Columbia University. Together with educational and mental health professionals, the NSCC researched and developed a detailed survey that assesses key school climate dimensions including safety, teaching and learning, interpersonal relationships, and the external environment. Our goal is a positive school climate, one in which all members of our educational community work together to create a shared school climate vision. Establishing and maintaining such a climate is not a one-time event. Rather, it is an ongoing process of data collection, analysis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Your survey submission will help us assess our school climate, and develop plans and goals that are reflective of all stakeholders’ interests.
The staff survey will be open from March 27 – May 5 by utilizing the links on the left hand side of this page. If you work in multiple school buildings in the District, you are welcome to complete the survey once for each building. If you have a child or children who attend District schools, you are welcome to complete both staff and parent surveys. The survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete, and all responses are completely anonymous. Paper surveys are available and may be obtained from your site coordinator. Paper surveys should be returned to your site coordinator by April 28 to allow time for shipping and processing. The site coordinators are as follows:
High School - Mark Frye
Middle School (7/8 Building) - Mike Spost
Parkway School - Tammy Smith
Deerfield Elementary School - Kelli McGowan
Hart’s Hill Elementary School - Lisa Putnam
Marcy Elementary School - Kim Newton
Westmoreland Road Elementary School - Andrea Centro
Facilities - Kevin Storsberg
Food Service - Angela Aguiar
Instructional Technology - Adam Cleveland
Transportation - Andy Kirk
Thank you in advance for taking the time to assist us in this very important and worthwhile process. If you have any questions, please contact the site coordinator at your building. We look forward to working with you in pursuit of our District's mission, “To inspire, cultivate, and empower all learners to maximize their potential.”
