Students and staff throughout the Whitesboro Central School District participated in the District’s annual “Big Apple Crunch” event on Oct. 27.

The “Big Apple Crunch” is a statewide initiative in which schools partner with local farmers during the apple season to help spread awareness about healthy eating, and to inspire New Yorkers to eat local and support local agriculture.

To celebrate the event, apples harvested from Old McMarley’s Apple Farm in Clinton were distributed at schools and facilities throughout the District for students and staff to eat. Old McMarley’s also supplies Whitesboro’s apples throughout the rest of the school year.

The District’s wellness program continues to support this fun and important initiative.
