The students in Mrs. Kostolecki’s French and Spanish classes celebrated National Foreign Language Week by creating posters centered around the theme “boost your brain with languages.” The students had the choice to create a digital or poster board style poster around the theme, with at least one expression in the language they study. Students were given extra credit for completing posters and were automatically enrolled into a contest. Poster winners received French and Latino themed treats as well as “fidgets,” cactus pens, ChapStick and free homework passes. Our winners this year were: first place, Hanna Gillette; second place, Lylah VanDyk and third place, Savannah Ferguson. Congratulations to our winners -- they did a great job! Thank you to our judges, fellow world language teachers Rose Cidzik (French) and Charles Hamilton (Spanish).

Celebrate National Foreign Language Week with people you know by sharing your language knowledge. Teach someone a new phrase in a language you know. “Boost” another person’s brain with languages!
