1/26/2024 - French Night at Syracuse Crunch
On January 26, more than 500 French students, French teachers and their friends and families enjoyed an exciting game of hockey in Syracuse.
The Syracuse Crunch won 4-2 over the visiting Laval Rocket. The Crunch set the tone early, scoring twice in the first ten minutes of play, and their dominance continued all the way until the end of the third period, when a risky empty-net decision by the desperate Rocket led to the final Crunch goal of the night. Fans were thrilled as the Crunch extended their winning streak to five games!
In addition to the game, French students from the high school and middle school were treated to hockey vocabulary in French on the arena’s display boards and students competed in an on-ice “red light, green light” game where the biggest challenge was to keep from falling down! At the end of the game, school groups got their photos taken on the ice with French-speaking Crunch hockey players.
Forty French students from Whitesboro were accompanied by Mrs. Kostolecki and Mrs. Rowley. Students and teachers from the following schools were in attendance, making this the biggest French Night at the Crunch on record with 548 tickets sold:
