6/15/2024 - Class of 2024 Commencement
At the 89th Annual Commencement held on June 15 at the Adirondack Bank Center, the students in the class of 2023 became Whitesboro High School graduates. The ceremony was attended by family and friends who gathered to support each of the graduating seniors as they received the diplomas they had worked so hard for.
As the class of 2024 filed into the auditorium, they were greeted by the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance.” The seniors and select choirs then sang “The Star Spangled Banner,” “Alma Mater” and “Does The World Say.’” For the full orchestra’s final performance with its senior members, the band performed “Journey’s Greatest Hits.”
Opening remarks were then made by Whitesboro High School Principal Mr. Jeffrey Kuhn, followed by the recognition of the highest honors graduates. The class address was given by Aubrey Hughes, who was a representative of the highest honors graduates, and Joseph LaBarbera, the senior class president. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian Bellair and Board of Education President Mr. Michael Head then had the opportunity to commend the senior class on all of their hard work and academic success as they each gave congratulatory remarks.
Following the congratulatory remarks, the name of each senior was announced as they walked across the stage to receive their diploma. Diplomas were presented by Mr. Head, Board of Education Vice President Mr. Brian McQueen and high school administrators Mr. Dave Cognetti and Mrs. Katherine Hobaica.
As the diplomas were officially accepted by the senior class president, the class of 2024 became the newest graduates of Whitesboro High School.
Congratulations to the class of 2024 and best of luck in your future endeavors!
