Whitesboro Athletes Compete in Alpine Ski, Gymnastics, Indoor Track & Field State Championships

Several Whitesboro athletes recently represented the district in state championship events for alpine ski, gymnastics and indoor track and field.

On February 26-27, junior Kaelyn Barry competed in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Alpine Ski Championships in Lake Placid. She was one of seven girls selected to the state team for Section III. This was a two-day event that comprised of two different disciplines. Day one was Giant Slalom and Kaelyn placed 38th in a combined two-run total out of 66 girls. Day two was Slalom and Kaelyn placed 30th in a combined two-run total out of 66 girls. We are so proud of her hard work and dedication. Way to go, Kaelyn!  

On March 2, Aubrey Hughes, Karley Hughes and Genevieve Michel represented Whitesboro High School on the Section III gymnastics team at the NYSPHSAA Gymnastics Championships held at Clarence High School in Buffalo. Members of the Whitesboro varsity gymnastics team helped Section III finish in second place out of 11 teams at the state competition. Congratulations on an outstanding season!

On March 2, Noah Otto competed in the pole vault in the NYSPHSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. Noah finished 23rd overall in the competition. During the season, Noah set a new indoor track school record with a vault of 13'0".
