Ranking Among Best Elementary Schools in New York State

Hart’s Hill Elementary School was awarded a badge by U.S. News and World Report for ranking in the top 40% of elementary schools in New York State. The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 37,000 public elementary schools nationwide.

Hart’s Hill Elementary School is ranked 353rd among New York elementary schools with an overall rating of 80.09/100. Public elementary schools that earned U.S. News rankings in the top 40% in their state gained eligibility to display a U.S. News award badge.

For each state, schools were assessed on their pupils’ proficiencies in mathematics and reading, as
measured by state assessment tests. Half of the ranking formula was the results themselves; the other half was the results in the context of socioeconomic demographics. In other words, the top-ranked schools are high-achieving ones that succeeded in educating all of their students.

New York State Reward School

The New York State Department of Education designated Hart’s Hill Elementary as a Reward School. Hart’s Hill was one of a select number of schools in New York State that made the most progress or had the highest performance with no significant gaps in student achievement.

Incoming Kindergarten Student/Parent Workshop

Each year during the month of March, incoming kindergarten students
and their parents are invited to Hart’s Hill to learn more about the kindergarten program. Parents have the opportunity to learn from teachers what they should expect, what a typical day in kindergarten looks like and how they can best support the transition for their child. Parents are introduced to Next Generation Standards, the programs that we use to support learning, and are provided with a packet of resources. Incoming kindergarten students have the opportunity to engage in fine and gross motor activities in the gym.
