Dr. Brian K. Bellair, Superintendent
In 1991, Dr. Bellair began his career in education and has worked in urban, rural, and suburban school districts in positions including teaching assistant, special education teacher, CSE chairperson, assistant principal, principal, director of special programs, and superintendent. His career in Whitesboro began in 2000 when he was appointed principal at Marcy Elementary School. In 2005, he was appointed to the position of director of special programs, and, most recently, was appointed superintendent of schools in 2016.
In 2011, he was selected as the School Administrators Association of New York State (SAANYS) Outstanding Educator of the Year. In 2019, he was the recipient of the 2019-2020 Professional of the Year Award from the New York State Association for Athletics, Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (NYSAHPERD).
In 2017, he earned his PhD in Education Policy and Leadership from SUNY Albany. Previously, he earned a CAS in School Leadership from SUNY Cortland, an MS in Vocational and Technical Education from SUNY Oswego, a BPS in Business with a concentration in Marketing from SUNY IT, and an AAS in Accounting from MVCC.
He is a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley and resides with his wife and children in Whitesboro.
