Kickball Tournament Raises Money for American Heart Association

For the second year in a row, dozens of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students participated in a kickball tournament to benefit the American Heart Association.  group photo

The tournament, held outside at Chiz Frye Field on June 15, featured 12 teams. Each team was guaranteed to play at least three games.

“Our Middle School Campus students are great advocates of the American Heart Association,” Mr. DiMaggio, sixth grade physical education teacher, said. “They are aware of all the great things the organization does to reduce incidents of cardiovascular disease and stroke. It’s amazing to see all of our students come together to support such a great cause.”

Like last year, there was a t-shirt design contest. Seventh grade student Emma Sheldon won the contest, and t-shirts featuring her design were sold at the kickball tournament. There was also a concession and a GoPro was raffled off.

The tournament raised $841 for the American Heart Association, exactly $200 more than last year.

Thank you to everyone who donated to this great cause!
