Middle School Students Walk, Collect Change for Autism Awareness
On April 2-3, students at Whitesboro Middle School participated in a “change walk” for Autism during their physical education classes.
The walk was held in conjunction with World Autism Awareness Day, which is held each year on April 2, and National Autism Awareness Month, which is the month of April.
During their PE classes, students brought in change to be donated and then walked laps around the gym. The money was collected in different containers for each class, and the class that collected the most money was rewarded with a pizza party.
All of the proceeds collected were donated to the Kelberman Center in Utica.
