Two Whitesboro Athletes Sign Letter of Intent to Play in College

Two of Whitesboro’s star athletes will be playing at the collegiate level in 2015-16. Senior Maria Lapertosa, a member of the Girls Varsity Basketball team, and Tyler Hudson, a member of the Varsity Football team, made their future plans official when they each signed a letter of intent on April 22. Maria Lapertosa signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Mercyhurst University, located in Erie, Pa. This past season, Lapertosa averaged 16.6 points/game and 10.1 rebounds/game for the Lady Warriors. A three-time TVL first team selection, Lapertosa was recently named to the 2014-15 Girls Basketball All-Mohawk Valley Team. Lapertosa finished her career with 1,169 career points and played in three straight Section III Class A finals. The Mercyhurst Women’s Basketball team is a Division II program and is a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

Tyler Hudson signed a letter of intent to play football for Hamilton College. This past season, Hudson played both offensive and defensive line for the Warriors. The Hamilton College Football team is a Division III program and is a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
