Whitesboro Varsity Baseball Beats Jamesville-Dewitt in Section III Class A Championship

The Whitesboro Varsity Baseball team recently beat Jamesville-Dewitt with a score of 3-2 in the Section III Class A Championship. They won in an 11-inning thriller in front of a packed crowd at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. It was Whitesboro baseball’s seventh section championship, and the second within the last three years. 

The team’s season came to an end following a loss to Ballston Spa in the NYSPHSAA’s Class A Central Region Championship game at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam on June 8.

Ballston Spa, which is ranked No. 2 in the state, beat Whitesboro, which is ranked No. 7 in the state, with a final score of 4-2. The Warriors played a hard-fought game and were in the lead 2-1 up until the bottom of the sixth inning. The Warriors finished the year 16-5.

Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team and coaches on an impressive season, and best of luck to the senior players who will soon be graduating.
