Hart’s Hill Elementary Raises Funds and Awareness to Help Fight Childhood Cancer

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which is held each year in September, Hart’s Hill Elementary School helped raise awareness about childhood cancer and raised money to help children who are battling the disease.

A combined total of $2,000 was raised for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and the Whip Pediatric Center program, which supports the Sloan Kettering Pediatric Cancer Center.

The school community also participated in the annual St. Jude Walk/Run at Whitesboro High School on Sept. 14, and students and staff participated in a Mini-Walk held at the school on Sept. 13. The theme for the Mini-Walk was Kids Helping Kids, and students and staff were encouraged to dress as superheroes for the day.

During the Mini-Walk, classes walked around the bike loop behind the school and showed off their superhero costumes, because they’re “super kids” for helping other children in need.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this fundraiser a success!
