Trent Beattie Named All-Mohawk Valley Bowler of the Year
The Observer-Dispatch transformed its annual All-Mohawk Valley All-Stars Awards Show into a star-studded, on-demand broadcast this year, which featured some of the biggest names in professional sports. The show continued its annual tradition of honoring the best in local high school sports from the past year.
The Whitesboro Warriors were well represented during the ceremony, with the following athletes being honored: Trent Beattie, TJ Davis, Griff Sciortino, Kiley Snow, David LaMore, Nick Sardina, Taylor Bushey, Kiara Khiamdavanh, Sophia Lupia, Madison Scialdone, Andrew Manley, Cameron Manley, Noah Scranton, Jacob Sherline, Danielle DeCarlo, Elizabeth Deck, and Madison Kozyra.
Trent Beattie’s season didn’t conclude as he had hoped, with the NYS Bowling Championships being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it did end on a high note when PBA Hall of Famer Norm Duke announced he was the All-Mohawk Valley Bowler of the Year.
Trent helped lead the Boys Varsity Bowling team to a 12-2 regular season record, which was tied for first place in the TVL. The team won the TVL Team Tournament and placed third in Class B at the Section III Team Tournament. Trent was a team captain and six-year varsity team member. He finished the season with the highest average in the TVL (209), was named a first team TVL All-Star, and was a member of the Section III Composite Team. His high match scores for the season were a 758 series and 290 single game. In 2017, he rolled a perfect 300 game in a match against Proctor.
Trent was also awarded the Utica Men’s & Women’s Bowling Scholarship and the Men’s President’s Bowling Scholarship.
Congratulations to Trent and all of the other Warriors that were recognized during the awards ceremony!
