Seniors James Kraeger and Grace Stuhlman Named Section III Scholar-Athletes
Whitesboro High School seniors James Kraeger and Grace Stuhlman have been named Section III Scholar-Athletes for their achievements not only in sports but also in the classroom.
To qualify as a Section III Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 90 percent or better and participate in a Section III-sponsored varsity sport. The organization also takes things such as community service and extracurricular activities into consideration.
Throughout his four years at Whitesboro High School, James Kraeger participated in Varsity Football, Varsity Ice Hockey and Varsity Lacrosse. He is also a member of the National Honor Society and will be graduating with Highest Honors.
James has received several athletic awards and recognitions throughout his high school athletic career, such as the Section III Ice Hockey Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 school year, Whitesboro Rookie of the Year for hockey during the 2017-18 school year, he was a member of the 2021 All-Central New York Hockey Team, he was a recipient of the Utica Observer-Dispatch’s Mohawk Valley High School Sports Award in 2021, and more.
James will be attending Utica College in the fall where he will be majoring in history and pre-law.
During her time at Whitesboro High School, Grace Stuhlman participated in Varsity Soccer, Varsity Basketball and Varsity Lacrosse. She is also a member of National Honor Society, where she served as president during her senior year, and she will be graduating with Highest Honors.
Grace’s athletic honors during her high school athletic career include Tri-Valley League First Team for lacrosse in 9th and 10th grades, being named All-Mohawk Valley All-Star in 11th grade, being named Tri-Valley League Soccer Player of the Year in 11th grade, and being named Section III Class A Soccer All-Star in grades 11 and 12, among others.
Grace will be attending Utica College in the fall where she will be participating in their six-year Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
