Hockey Players Read to Elementary Students, and Give Gifts

Photo Gallery

Ahead of winter break, five Whitesboro Central School District varsity hockey players went to Marcy Elementary School to read, then give presents to students in Ms. Scalise and Ms. Engell’s classrooms.

Logan Lachacz (#18), Michael Calcagnino (#11), Frankie Centro (#7), A.J. DiSpirito (#8), and John Welch (#27) gave gifts that included fire trucks, toy trains, books, plastic building toys, dolls, and much more.

The students were all excited to receive their gifts, and they were happy to have the company of the hockey players, who pulled up seats at the tables to help students open and play with their gifts.

It was an afternoon full of laughter and fun conversation. Everyone involved had a great time!

This is the eighth year hockey players have read and/or brought gifts to one of the school district’s elementary schools.
