On November 8, nine students competed in the American Mathematics Competition (AMC), hosted by Utica University. The AMC is a 25-question, 75-minute, multiple-choice examination in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills. There were two divisions, 7-10 grade and 11-12 grade. The AMC 10/12 is the first in a series of competitions that eventually lead all the way to the International Mathematical Olympiad. Up for the challenge (from left to right) were Isabella Perry, Andrea Buffington, Frankie Aldi, Libbie Friot, Heba Hammod, Gabe O'Donnell, Luke Miller, Ethan Howard, and Leah Bennett. The students will receive their results in 2-4 weeks. If they placed in the top three in their respective division, they will be invited back for the awards ceremony on January 20. Great job everyone!
