Elementary Summer Enrichment Camps

The Whitesboro Central School District is proud to once again offer elementary summer enrichment camps! The camps will be held at elementary schools throughout the District. Our goal is to help reduce summer learning loss with these enjoyable educational opportunities. All Whitesboro CSD students entering grades K-5 in September 2024 are eligible.

All camps are FREE and include a FREE snack and drink each day. Most camps will run for eight days, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Session 1 will be held July 8-18 and Session 2 will be held July 22-August 1. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. You may sign your child up for one or both sessions using the links below.

Registration will close on Friday, June 14.

Session 1: July 8-18 (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.)

The ABC’s of Volleyball: A is for Active, B is for Basics, C is for Competitive
Location: Marcy
Grade Levels: Girls entering 2-5 (32 slots)
Teachers: Coach Lenard and Ms. Candella
Meet us at the net! Students will focus on skill development and progress, not perfection. Activities will teach basic fundamentals of volleyball; passing, setting, attacking and digging while developing their hand-eye coordination, agility and overall athletic skills. And best of all, it comes with the benefits of a fun, safe space with an emphasis on good sportsmanship!

Time for some…WEIRD SCIENCE!
Location: Marcy
Grades 1-5 (64 slots)
Teachers: Mr. McGowan, Mrs. DeFazio, Mrs. Meiss, and Ms. Kosakowski
Sign up for Weird Science Camp for a cool and unforgettable summer! Dive into exciting experiments, quirky science projects and hands-on activities that spark your imagination. Explore the wonders of chemistry, physics and biology in a fun and interactive environment. Perfect for curious minds, this camp offers a thrilling adventure into the world of science!

Building Confidence and Fluency through Performing Arts: Drama Camp
Location: Marcy
Grades 3-5 (32 slots)
Teachers: Miss Sutliff and Mrs. Madia
Students will be immersed in all aspects of drama and theater, from acting to choreography to vocal performance. Students will gain knowledge of the theater, acting techniques and practice reading fluency, all while building confidence and stage presence. No experience required – come with a smile and a positive attitude to try new things!

Adventure Begins at Your Library
Location: Marcy
Grades 1-5 (16 slots)
Ms. Hoffman, Library Media Specialist
Fun reading and learning activities will center on “Smokey Bear's 80th Birthday Reading Challenge” about wildfire prevention and the conservation of our nation's natural resources, sponsored by the USDA Forest Service.

Summer STEAM
Location: Hart’s Hill
Grades 1-5 (48 slots)
Teachers: Ms. Cardamone, Ms. Mayo and Ms. McIntosh
Science/technology: hands on experiments, following the scientific method, writing activities to imagine, design, create and evaluate.

Olympic Gold
Location: Hart’s Hill
Grades 4-5 (32 slots)
Teachers: Ms. Radell and Ms. Kuty
The Olympics are not only a part of our lives today, but they have been for hundreds of years. Come learn about the past and present Olympics. This camp is perfect for any child who wants to learn more about the big games with an engaging summer camp. Have fun with STEM, ELA, MATH, TEAM BUILDING and other creative activities.

2-D & 3-D Art Workshop
Location: Hart’s Hill
Grades 3-4 (22 slots)
Teachers: Mrs. Papandrea and Mrs. Wander
This is where students will “fire up” their creative energy! They will hand-build, glaze and fire a clay sculpture. During the firing process, students will create an acrylic painting! Let’s see YOUR creativity!

3, 2, 1 Blast Off to Kindergarten!
Location: Hart’s Hill
Grade K (16 slots)
Teacher: Mrs. LoGalbo
Students entering kindergarten will explore activities in language, mathematics, science, social studies, fine/gross motor skills, critical thinking and social emotional development. Come meet new friends and explore as we prepare for kindergarten!

Literacy Circle Book Club!
Location: Hart’s Hill
Grades 3-4 (32 slots)
Teachers: Mrs. Charlebois and Mrs. Anderson
Students will be reading novels, supported by hands-on engaging activities. The goal of the two- week session is to inspire a love of reading while also enhancing fluency and comprehension skills.

Session 2: July 22-August 18 (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.)

Time for a Little WEIRD SCIENCE!
Location: Deerfield
Grades 1-5 (48 slots)
Teachers: Mr. McGowan, Mrs. DeFazio and Ms. Kosakowski
Weird Science Camp (entering 2nd-5th) is sure to bring loads of FUN and LAUGHS! We will be creating solar s’more makers and making s’mores. There will be zip-tie spider (fake) races, elephant toothpaste experiments, and minute-to-win-it and spaghetti tower building competitions.

Promoting Health, Nutrition, and Wellness through Sports and Activities!
Location: Hart’s Hill
Grades 2-5 (32 slots)
Teachers: Miss Sutliff and Mrs. Madia
Students will be immersed with skills to promote lifelong fitness goals and activities. They will learn a variety of games and activities, while also creating their own game for their peers to try. Nutrition and mindfulness will be an essential component of this camp, as well! All ability levels are welcome! Come with a positive attitude to try new things!
