Five Varsity Golfers Compete in State Qualifier, Domagal Advances to State Tournament

On May 24 and 26, five golfers from the Whitesboro Varsity Golf team competed in the Section III State Qualifier against 81 other golfers at Seven Oaks Golf Course at Colgate University.  Five Whitesboro players

Jake Domagal, Sam DePasquale, Joe DePasquale, Sean Scarafile and David Daniels all competed in the first round. Jake Domagal, Sam DePasquale and Sean Scarafile advanced to the second round. Their first and second round scores were:

Jake Domagal – 83 (Round 1), 75 (Round 2), 158 (Total); 4th overall
Sam DePasquale – 80 (Round 1), 87 (Round 2), 167 (Total); 13th overall
Sean Scarafile – 83 (Round 1), 86 (Round 2), 169 (Total); 15th overall

As the result of his fourth place finish, Jake Domagal was one of nine golfers to qualify for the State Tournament at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University the following weekend. Domagal finished in 74th place.

“We had a great showing in the Section III State Qualifier, and I am extremely proud of all our boys who competed,” Varsity Golf Coach Ryan McQueen said. “Not only are they a great group of players, but they have grown into wonderful young men. Our entire school community should be proud of how much they have grown both on and off the course, because I sure am.”
